So You've Been Arrested in Florida, Now What?

Booking, bond, arraignment, and why counsel from the first hours changes the file.

June 16, 2023

After an arrest in Florida, you are taken to a station or jail for booking: fingerprints, photographs, a background check, and a search for outstanding warrants.

Release may be a set bond or a bond hearing. An attorney can advocate for a reasonable bond and conditions.

Arraignment is where you enter a plea. If the plea is not guilty, pretrial work begins: evidence, investigation, negotiation, and motions. If there is no agreement, the case may go to trial.
