If you are accused of a crime you will either be arrested or, in certain misdemeanors, released. If you are not arrested, the State Attorney may still file an Information after reviewing a sworn complaint.
Florida requires first appearance within 24 hours of arrest. The judge reviews probable cause and sets a bond. This office will do everything possible to be there, even if you hire us at the last minute.
If you remain in custody, defendants generally may not stay beyond 40 days without formal charges. We stay in contact with the prosecution from day one.
